why video games?
'Gaming' is a classic pastime of individuals and groups that has entertained many generations, and the absolute best way to enjoy video games is with a handful (or a couple dozen) of your friends, playing with or against each other, all in the same room.
Competition- and conversely, teamwork- helps shape the youth to be more successful in future endeavors. Productivity-based and reward-based activities help fuel ambition and goal-setting in an individual. Video games give all of these things in a very acceptable environment with those whom kids enjoy their time the most: their friends.
Video games can have a positive impact on decision-making, reaction times and general hand-eye coordination. While not nearly as productive as reading (in regards to education), video games can immerse a gamer into enough stories to develop quite a creative and imaginative mind.

About the Owner
Douglas Neville is the founder and owner/ operator of Forerunner Gaming. During the week, he works for a local wine distributor, hosting events with the video game truck on the weekends. He hopes his passion for video games and the fun experience will serve San Luis Obispo County, filling a market niche the community didn't know they were missing.
He was born and raised in Paso Robles, graduating from Paso Robles High School, then attending Cuesta College studying Architecture and Real Estate. His formative years were spent playing sports outside or playing video games inside- before internet gaming. He and his twin brother would transport a TV and console to LAN parties at friends' houses around town, when split-screen and system-link games were the only multiplayer available.
His dream was to formulate a startup that didn't force him to leave his full-time job. The answer was niche party entertainment serving the Central Coast, providing what he grew up enjoying in his free time. The concept isn't new, but he saw a vacancy in service coverage in San Luis Obispo's North County. Within two years of service, it was clear the whole county could benefit from such a fun and unique party idea.
His passion for private small business in the community drove him to build something from the ground up, keeping the company small and keeping the revenue local, taking the road less followed instead of buying into a corporation.
Forerunner Gaming is the 'forerunner' and precursor to future endeavors.
